Homer’s epic Greek poem “The Odyssey” tells the story of hero Odysseus on his journey home to Ithaca after the fall of Troy. (...)

Homer’s epic Greek poem “The Odyssey” tells the story of hero Odysseus on his journey home to Ithaca after the fall of Troy. Odyssey putters send a golf ball on a journey to the hole and, whilst not, an epic event, the excitement and anticipation, the difference between success and failure, the triumphs and tribulations are no less real. In Homer’s poem, the outcome of the journey was decided on by the actions of ordinary men and women and the choices they made. Similarly, the putter a golfer chooses to use can influence the golf balls travels and how short or long that journey will be. Odyssey concentrates their energies on the game within the game, which is putting. All of Odyssey’s resources, innovations and technology are ploughed into bringing golfers the best choice of putters. Odyssey arranges their golf putters into series, which are then broken down into individual putters within that series: Odyssey White Hot XG Series: Featuring XG insert technology for added feel, distance control, feedback, forgiveness and produces a truer roll. The series features the hugely popular 2-ball putter, which assist ball alignment, as well as, the dual fanged Sabertooth and fanged No. 7 putters. The Black Series features a rear tungsten flange to improve clubhead stability, as well as, the entire range being precision milled for greater feel and accuracy. The Black-I Series putters are constructed in the same way as the Black Series, but, with the addition of a multi-layered Tour insert for added responsiveness and feel which appeals to top golfers. The Crimson Series features three great putters, the 660, 550 and 770, which includes the crimson stronomic insert that increases feedback, and are priced for all golfers to afford. The Divine Series is the series specifically created for lady golfers and was inspired by the great men’s putter designs, but, styled for how ladies play the game. The Marxman Series are available in mallet or blade styles, and include a dual purpose putter/chipper, which are aligned and weighted for perfect putting accuracy. Both, The White Hot Tour and Tour Authenticate series’ have been designed with the top professionals in mind. If you fancy using the putters that the pro’s use, and you have a suitably low handicap, these series’ are the crème de la crème of Odyssey golf putters and offer a customized feel and responsiveness that the top pro’s expect and demand. So, if you do not want your golf putting journey to be as long as Homer’s epic Odyssey, than a smart move would be to look seriously at Odyssey’s line of putters. Golfbuyitonline, not only, stock and supply a massive range of Odyssey golf putters, but, offer a, peace of mind, two year guarantee on the whole collection.

Shave Some Strokes off your Golf ScoreNo matter what your golf score, about 42% of all your strokes are taken with a putter. That is a sobering statistic. (...)

Shave Some Strokes off your Golf ScoreNo matter what your golf score, about 42% of all your strokes are taken with a putter. That is a sobering statistic. While golfers spend hours reading reviews and discussing the various aspects of the new high tech woods and irons, in some cases their putter was probably a gift or won at a golf outing. Many golfers choose a putter based on the intangible “feel”. At best, the selection criteria probably wasn’t remotely close to the effort expended selecting the remaining clubs. If that sounds like you, you’re not alone. If you are not using the right putter for your size and stroke, it is almost impossible to have a consistent and successful putting method. The right putter may be a great way to shave enough strokes off your game to break ninety or at least have old Angus buy the rounds at the 19th hole. The most important part of putter selection is shaft length. Stock putter lengths tend to be standard, which is great if you are of average height and average putting stance. If not, your putter’s base is probably not lying perfectly flat on the ground, or you are adjusting your stance. A subtle change which can dramatically affect your stroke and, unfortunately, the results. If the putter’s toe is slightly off the ground, there is a tendency to pull the putt to the left. It stands to reason that if the heel of the putter is slightly elevated, the putt will move to the right. The angle of the shaft to the putter head perfectly flat on the green is sometimes called the lie angle. The standard shaft length for putters is 35″, but the overall length can range from 32″ to 52″. If you are taller or shorter than average, your lie angle is going to be wrong and you can absolutely count on missing two or three makeable putts every round. You start thinking you are a poor putter and lose some confidence, when actually you have the wrong putter. This problem is exacerbated as more and more golfers start using the pendulum stroke, which completely changes the shaft length. Check your lie angle by standing in front of a full length mirror and getting into your putting stance as though you are putting into the mirror. Don’t use a golf ball. Get into a completely and totally comfortable putting stance. Place your hands on the grip where it is most comfortable, not to make the putter lie flat. Then, look into the mirror. If the club head is not perfectly flat on the floor or rug, the shaft length and/or the lie angle is wrong and you need to go putter shopping. Make sure to determine the appropriate shaft length. If you can find a putter on line that you like with the correct shaft length, go for it. Otherwise, you need to consider a custom fitted golf putter. Other important factors include club head design, putter face loft angle and the new putter inserts that are becoming quite popular. The club head design is a matter of personal choice and comfort. The traditional blade putter are thin and usually carry the weight in both the heel and the toe. They have been around for years and they are what they are. The mallet style putters have more weight in the club head and, most importantly, they are easier to align than the bladed putters. The alignment putter is an improvement on the mallet putter and offers different alignment features that help putt the ball on the target line. Try them all out and choose the one that feels best in your hands. Putter inserts are technology’s contribution to putting the golf ball. While design and components vary, the purpose is to get the ball rolling smoothly towards the cup and reducing the dreaded skipping along the green putt. It is also important to consider your putter’s loft. You can change the loft of a putter, helpful on slow greens, by putting the ball off the front part of your foot. Loft requirements relate more to the type of green than a golfers individual preference. For example, Bermuda grass greens require a bit more loft than the more traditional bent grass. Check out the greens on your course before making a putter face loft decision. Finally, consider the putter’s weight, grip and the hosel (neck). The weight rule is simple. The slower the stroke, the heavier the putter. The grip should be comfortable and designed to reduce that old bugaboo, wrist movement. The hosel places the ball directly under or ahead of the shaft. The more the putter is offset, the more the hands will be in front of the golf ball when the putt is struck. The face balanced or center shafted putter, where the putter’s shaft and hosel are more in the center, help the golfer who wants to keep the club face square with the ball throughout the swing. Use your finger to balance your putter. If the putter’s face points up, it is face balanced. Take some time to find the putter that is best for your game. All you can save are strokes.

Yes! Putters, complete with their unique C-Groove technology, were launched by English golf coach Harold Swash in 1995 and since then have gone on to capture tournaments around the world, win two US Opens and firmly establish themselves as the world’s number one custom fit putter brand. The C-Groove technology used in Yes! Putters involves concentric grooves being machined into the clubface at two exacting angles. When a golfer strikes the ball the Yes! clubface holds the ball for a fraction of a second longer than an ordinary putter. This split second difference between a Yes! Putter and an ordinary putter allows the Yes! models to be consistently more accurate by lifting the ball out of its resting place while simultaneously causing the optimum topspin on the ball almost immediately. With the rolling action beginning so early in the ball’s journey towards the hole, skid and deviation are kept to a bare minimum. As a young company without the clout to sign multi million dollar endorsement deals with big stars Yes! has had to fight hard to gain a foothold in the golfing world. That the company has achieved that so successfully, and attracted so many professionals, is a testament to the genius of Harold Swash’s design. Although many rival brands have tried imitate the unique C-Groove technology none have legally succeeded in replicating the properties that make C-Groove so effective. With the range of Yes! Putters constantly expanding and professional and amateur golfers alike beguiled by the brilliance of the C-Groove technology it seems that Yes! Golf and the amazing impact of Harold Swash’s invention are likely to be around for a long time to come. In mygolfwholesale, you can buy Yes putters at a very reasonable price.

As a golfer, one of the most important pieces of equipment that you can own is a putter. As you probably realize, your putter is used more times in one round of golf than any of your other clubs. Knowing how to truly use a putter displays your excellence as a golfer.
After all, if you know how to properly use a putter, then chances are that you are experienced at reading a green, as well as figuring out and controlling the speed and distance of your ball. You may even have the knowledge of how to create a pure roll with your golf ball; but this information is useless if you do not know how to use a putter. Knowing how to use a putter has many, many benefits.
No matter what, one highly important aspect of a putter is its alignment. Even if you read your green to the best of your ability and had a perfect speed and roll with your ball – if the putter was not lined up correctly to make the shot, chances are you won’t make it. Your putter’s alignment means everything in a game. Even if you think that you can read your green to the best of your ability, you may not be able to totally hit the ball with the best speed and roll. Playing this game over and over will show you how to line up the ball to make the shot. You may need to use line, circles, holes, dots, and other features to line yourself up for the shot – but no matter what, with the right putter, it will end up where you want.
What type of putter you choose is completely up to you. Putters are typically chosen based upon a personal preference. Remember that in golf, every person is different. You may choose a putter based on its style, its weight, its look, or its technology. The putter you choose is completely up to you and your personal style.
There are a variety of guidelines that can assist you in purchasing a putter. The basic types of putters are as follows:
Putter blades:
Putter blades are generally narrow and flat. On the market today, there are several putters that are widely popular among low-to-handicap players. This is due to the enhanced feel of the putters. The blade of every putter entered more in the middle compared to other types. A blade putter provides extra weight in the heel and toe of the putter to improve forgiveness on off center hits. Blade style putters give you a thin top line to look at while you are over the ball.
Perimeter weight:
A perimeter-weighted putter design is a forgiving design. The perimeter weightied design distributes the weight around the edges of the club-head, in turn creating a larger sweet spot that helps stabilize any slight mishaps.
Mallets:
Mallets feature a large, round club-head. The weight of these mallet putters is usually balanced throughout the head for a more consistent putting stroke.
Insert:
An insert is designed with composite inserts. These insert putters offer a great feel on the putt, as well as a highly a smooth roll.

Although Taylor Made is mainly famous for its drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids, the company does have an interesting line of putters. (...)

Although Taylor Made is mainly famous for its drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids, the company does have an interesting line of putters. There are 10 putters offered, and one of the unique features on them is the Rossa insert which uses a technology called AGSI which stands for Anti-Skid Groove System Insert. This 14 groove insert can actually be applied to any putter, and it has been shown that simply adding the insert on the face of a putter will produce less skid, and the ball will begin to roll more quickly. This will of course improve the line the ball rolls on and it allegedly improves distance control for the golfer as well. At this point the attributes of the ten putters offered by Taylor Made will be described. The Corzina putter is a mallet like club, but the body is made in what is called a wire frame construction. Instead of a solid mallet, the back portion of the putter consists of two bands of semicircular metal which meet in the back middle and are connected to a bar which extends back from the putter face. This design clearly is putting weight at the perimeter of the club head for higher MOI (moment of inertia) which means greater forgiveness for putts not struck exactly on the sweet spot. The head is made of 304 stainless steel and has a black finish for an attractive look. The AGSI anti-skid insert is of course included on this putter and all the putters in the product line. The Tourismo adds another technology feature in addition to its different head shape and design. That is, it incorporates what is called MWT, or Moveable Weight Technology. There are two ports in the back of the putter where weight can be added or subtracted to personalize the feel of the putter. The head shape is a reverse trapezoid which means that the back of the putter is longer than the face. Putting so much weight behind and at the perimeter of the putter head is meant to increase MOI. The wire frame construction technique is also used on the Tourismo, and of course the AGSI insert is included as well. Once again, the putter is made from 304 stainless steel and has an attractive black finish. Another trapezoid shape is invoked with the Inza model, although this time the putter back is more solid looking and the wire frame construction is not used. Once again this shape is used to increase MOI. The Inza also uses both the movable weights to customize the putter feel, as well as the AGSI face insert. Taylor Made offers several putters for golfers who prefer a more classic look. The Siena Classic is a blade inspired design with weight redistributed to the heel and toe areas of the club to increase MOI, although MOI on a design like this is bound to be less than designs like mallets or other shapes that have a larger back. Once again 304 stainless steel and a black finish are employed, as is the AGSI insert on the putter face. The Imola Classic is another blade inspired design, but it has smoother lines than the more abrupt shapes of the Siena. It has pretty much the same features, including improved MOI from more weight in the heel and toe areas, the AGSI insert, and it also is made from 304 stainless steel with a black finish. The Modena Classic model looks quite similar to the Siena and has essentially the same feature set, that is, blade based design, heel and toe weighting for higher MOI, the AGSI face insert, and 304 stainless steel with a black finish. The differences are that the Modena has one alignment line on the putter back whereas the Siena has two, and the neck attachment to the shaft is different. On the Modena the neck and shaft seem to be fused, and there is no joint at their juncture. The Daytona Classic is another blade-type design, and once again, it resembles the Siena. The putter head has smoother lines, however, and there is a slightly higher ridge at the top of the putter. The biggest difference is certainly the shaft offset of the Daytona. Once again 304 stainless steel with a black finish is used, as is the AGSI face insert. The Monte Carlo Classic is a mallet derived design. The symmetrical rear flange has more weight on the toe and heel sections for higher MOI, and this is enhanced even more because the mallet design puts more weight to the back of the putter head. All the normal features are included, and the shaft attaches to the head at about the mid point between the toe and heel. The Monza Corza model is a modern mallet style putter that is quite similar to the Corzina, the first model described above. The main differences are that the MWT, or movable weight technology feature has been added by placing two ports at the back-center of the putter head. This model, which also employs the wire frame construction, does not have a black coating. Of course the AGSI face insert is employed on this model as well. The Monza Corza Mid is a belly putter, and it comes in lengths of 38, 41, and 43 inches. Both putters have little or no neck with the shaft connecting directly to the putter head. For the Mid model the connection is in the middle of the top area about mid-way between the heel and toe, while in the standard sized Monza Corza the shaft connects close to the heel area. Once again, the AGSI insert technology is the single thread on all the different Taylor Made putter models. The putters look to be designed using sound principles, and for golfers who favor Taylor Made woods and drivers, a look at their putter offerings would be worth some time.

One name you cannot fail to hear when discussing the art of putting and, of putters in particular, is Scotty Cameron. Now, Scotty Cameron is not a famous golfer, nor, has he won a Major tournament, but, the putters he designed have been used to sink the winning shots. When top German golfer, Bernhard Langer, won the US Masters at Augusta in 1993, with an -11, it was a Scotty Cameron putter he used. That was to be the first of many times that a Scotty Cameron designed putter would be used to sink the money shot. Since 1993, Scotty Cameron putters have featured, heavily, with wins in the top golfers games:• 1993/1994: 1 win• 1995: 5 wins• 1996: 10 wins• 1997: 10 wins• 1998: 25 wins• 1999: 67 wins• 2000: 64 wins• 2001: 58 wins• 2002: 58 wins• 2003: 62 wins• 2004: 52 wins• 2005: 54 wins• 2006: 62 wins• 2007: 44 wins• 2008: 80 wins• 2009: 4 wins, so far. This impressive track record of wins includes the PGA Tour, PGA European Tour, LPGA Tours, as well as, the Australian, Korean and Japanese Tours. Scotty Cameron’s putters are so popular that older models can attract huge prices on internet auction sites and are eagerly collected by golfing enthusiasts from around the world. In 1994, Scotty Cameron entered into partnership with Titleist, to produce putters for pro and amateur golfers, alike. Golfbuyitonline stock a huge range of Scotty Cameron putters, which fall into 4 distinct categories:Scotty Cameron Putters:Studio Select Newport Putters; Tour proven, Studio Select line of putters are precision milled from a solid block of 303 stainless steel.
The Odyssey company offers extensive lines of putters, and this article will describe one of their product lines, the Odyssey Black Series of putters. (...)

The Odyssey company offers extensive lines of putters, and this article will describe one of their product lines, the Odyssey Black Series of putters. The Odyssey Black Series consists of 3 putter head designs all of which take advantage of the design and technology features developed for this product line. One feature used on all three models is a tungsten flange at the back of the putter head. This flange adds weight to the rear of the putter head and creates a low CG (center of gravity) which is deep in the club face. This feature helps to lift the ball slightly upon impact and get it rolling quicker. Since the golf ball actually is slightly nestled down into the grass of the putting green, hitting the putt initially with an upward angle helps get the ball rolling. In fact there is a short video on the Odyssey Black Series web site that shows a comparison between these clubs and another allegedly typical putter. The Black Series putter got the ball rolling about 1 ½ inches before the other putter did. Working in conjunction with the placement of the CG is the loft of the putter face. Each of the putter heads in the line, which are simply called Black Series no. 1, no. 2, and no. 3, have a different loft angle of the putter face which is optimized to get the quickest roll possible for the given CG location of each particular putter head. The theory is that the sooner the ball stops skidding after impact and begins a true roll, the more accurate the putt will be, and this certainly makes sense. It should also be noted that the weighted flange helps to create a higher MOI as well, and this provides some forgiveness for putts not hit exactly on the “sweet spot” of the putter face. These putters are certainly top of the line and carry a retail price tag of $249 each. Black Series no. 1 putter has a rounded heel-toe weighted putter blade with a so called “crank-neck” hosel and a one shaft offset. The crank neck simply means that the offset is achieved by moving the shaft forward at 90 degree angles instead of a gradual bending of the hosel or shaft. The Black Series no. 2 putter has the same features but is more squared-off in appearance. Black Series model no. 3 is a mallet style putter with a double bend shaft that gives the same full-shaft offset. The putter head is made of 1025 carbon steel and features a mix-milled face design which indicates the proper impact area. In other words the face has two different mill patterns on it. There is also a urethane damping layer between the flange and the milled carbon steel head that dampens vibrations. The three traditional shaped heads of the Odyssey Back Series golf putters offer an interesting alternative for the serious golfer who prefers a traditional type of look and who can afford to spend $249 on his putter. They are certainly worth a look.

Arguably the greatest difference in style and design of club in golfers’ bags must be the golf putter and each, individual, golfer will have different requirements when it comes to finding the one that is perfect for their own method of play. (...)

Arguably the greatest difference in style and design of club in golfers’ bags must be the golf putter and each, individual, golfer will have different requirements when it comes to finding the one that is perfect for their own method of play. There, surely, can be no greater feeling of satisfaction to a golfer than to finally master the art of putting but it can be a long slow process, with many hours of practice before that conclusion is reached. However a golfer that opts for a putter that matches how their game is played will improve the chances of their shot landing in the hole:A well played putting stroke will be played when the golfer utilises a pendulum motion from the shoulder and causes the shoulder muscles, the upper back, chest, upper arms, forearms and wrists to work as one complete unit and allows the putter to swing back and forth with smooth controlled movements, without any sudden jerks or tics. A golfer that has managed to perfect this manoeuvre will require a golf putter that produces greater accuracy and provides the golfer with increased ball control and would, probably, seek a conventional shaft, which produces the correct putting stance, with a traditional blade clubhead which gives greater feel of the ball. A golfer that finds it difficult to control wrist movement, or suffers from the yips (described as an involuntary movement of the lower arms and wrists that can be brought on by nervous tension, even in professional golfers) may discover that a belly putter would be the ideal weapon in their putting arsenal. Whilst nearly maintaining the correct stance a belly putter restricts the movement of the wrists and lower arms by anchoring the putter to the … belly. The long putter anchors to the chest creating a pendulum motion from the shoulders and removes any problems that a golfer may have with his wrist action. The broomstick putter, with which it is also known, can help to improve consistency of putt, but, will provide less distance control and will lack the feel of a conventional putter. Golfbuyitonline supply a range of putters that help golfers to achieve the perfect money shot with more consistency and accuracy than they believed possible.
